The coffee has an acidic taste

Try this solution

Descale the machine

If the water in your area is hard, limescale builds up over time. These deposits may affect correct operation of the machine and coffee taste.

You are recommended to descale the coffeemaker approximately every 60 cycles.

1

Always use De’Longhi descaler to descale your machine

2

Prepare a full jar of descaler solution

Pour 3.4 oz (100 ml) of De’Longhi descaler in the water tank and add fresh water up to the MAX level (8 cup).

4

Run the descaling cycle

1.
Place the empty jar on the warming plate.

2.
Make sure the filter holder is empty. Remove any used filter paper and used coffee residues.

2.
Press and hold both buttons for 2 seconds.

3.
The descaling process begins. Desclaing solution flows from the tank to the jar.

4.
When the descaling cycle is complete the lights on the two buttons turn off.

5

Rinse the coffee machine twice

In order to rinse the machine after descaling you will need to perform two full brewing cycles, without pre-ground coffee, using only fresh cold water.

1.
Empty the jug.

2.
Remove the tank lid, turning counter-clockwise to unlock.

2.
Pour fresh water into water the tank, up to the MAX level (40 oz.)

3.
Place back the lid, turning clockwise to lock into place.

4.
Push the right button (SCA Goldep Cup) to start up the brewing process.

Wait until the tank is completely empty.

5.
Repeat the whole process one more time (rinse again the machine using a full tank of fresh cold water).
